In partnership with state business, Imereti plans to implement a € 150 million project in Tskaltubo Municipality - a multifunctional space, ranging from greenhouses to refrigeration and processing plants, as well as a training center. This project is mainly focused on improving the quality and yield of Georgian herbs. Minister of Agriculture Levan Davitashvili spoke about the details in Tskaltubo.

According to him, the technical-economic research on the project has been completed, and work with investors is underway under specific conditions. The Minister says that the herbs produced in Imereti have a special potential, so in their time they started working on how to improve this potential.

"Many meetings were held with the local population when we discussed how to develop this direction. The state company "Imereti Agrozone" was established, which develops greenhouses. This means an investment of 150 million euros in Tskaltubo municipality alone; This implies the introduction of modern technologies in all production chains.

We will have primary production greenhouses, as well as a training center, we will be able to provide all services, which will serve not only the 200 ha allocated in Partskhanakanebi, but also for the farmers of Tskaltubo municipality as a whole.

Refrigeration, storage, and processing farms will be built here so that each kilogram of produce produced becomes more valuable and passes to the traditional markets and the markets of Europe and the Middle East that we have explored. The project has been developed by a Georgian-Dutch group, a detailed study has been completed, an expression of interest has been announced, and today we are starting agreements with investors on specific terms, ” the minister said.
